CHALLENGE
A sponsor sought WCG’s assistance recruiting and enrolling participants for a complex Phase III Osteoarthritis of the hip or knee study, which required participants to also be experiencing chronic lower back pain. Additionally, the study had an existing media referral backlog of 8,000 individuals identified through another vendor.
SOLUTION
WCG’s comprehensive enrollment strategy aligned the sponsor’s goals with both site and participant motivations. To fuel recruitment, a multi-faceted approach looked across all referral sources, pinpointing site-specific opportunities to optimize participant identification and increase engagement.
Our project team tracked and reported these site-level insights to ensure execution was optimized every step of the way. When additional site-level attention and support was necessary, our team delivered dedicated Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) assistance to 44 study sites across the United States.
Additionally, we accelerated the process by conducting focused internal chart reviews while simultaneously expediting follow-ups with third-party sourced referrals within a 48-hour timeframe. Our referral processing support helped clear the backlog for sites ahead of the study screening deadlines.
Furthermore, WCG’s My Patient® portal, a secure web-based study management platform, meticulously tracked and reported each participant’s journey from all referral sources, ensuring that no potential participant fell through the cracks.
