Princeton, NJ – April 19, 2022 – Today, WCG announced the start of a 10-part, bi-weekly webinar series addressing the “Future of Clinical Research Sites.” Each episode will discuss a different aspect of the impact that complex clinical trial trends are having on sites and provide practical strategies to address the resulting challenges.
“Clinical research sites are experiencing unprecedented demand as more clinical trials are starting than ever before. At the same time, sites are facing staffing constraints because of the ‘Great Resignation’ and lingering effects from the COVID-19 pandemic, low patient participation rates, and increasingly complex protocols. They are being asked to do more with less, so they need help and practical solutions. We have developed this webinar series as a vehicle to deliver hands-on tips that have proven effective for other industry organizations facing similar challenges,” said Sandy Smith, RN, MSN, AOCN, Senior Vice President, Clinical Solutions and Strategic Partnering at WCG, and the series moderator.
Each webinar will have a panel of speakers: Suzanne Caruso, Senior Vice President of Insights and Analytics at WCG will begin with a market analysis pertinent to the topic. She will be followed by a research site executive who will provide an in-depth case example of what their program is facing, and each webinar will wrap up with a WCG Subject Matter Expert sharing practical tips and strategies to mitigate these challenges.
Topics to be covered in this 10-part series include coverage analysis, budgets, contracts, financial management, central IRB review, data and safety monitoring committees, site staffing augmentation, clinical trial management systems, and site training. The series will also discuss how to build stronger sponsor relationships and address issues pertaining to specific therapeutic areas.
The first webinar, “Future of Clinical Research Sites: A Market Analysis of Where Sites Are Today”, will be held from 12-12:45 pm ET on Thursday, April 21. During this session, speakers will provide an overview of current clinical trial market trends (including insights from the Q1 2022 WCG Site Survey), providing the baseline data, knowledge, and understanding of what life is like at sites today on which the other episodes will build. Registration for this complimentary event is available here.
